Super Quick Meal: Daily Harvest

Hey guys! I can't tell you how many people say to me each & every day, "I'd love to meal prep...but I have NO time!" Insert HEALTHY meals on the go by Daily Harvest. (no this is NOT an ad and I am not profiting from this post, I generally love the product)

Aside from being SO delicious, I love Daily Harvest because:

  • Its ACTUALLY healthy. There are a ton of meal replacements out there but they are not made with whole foods. We need whole unprocessed foods vs processed in order to preserve the foods nutrient density. Daily Harvest's quick fresh/frozen options have no additives, fillers or anything artificial and are perfect for on the go. Good luck finding that at a fast restaurant. They use a variety of fruits, veggies and super foods in their numerous options.

  • Lots of variety. Food rotation is very important in all of our diets. Generally people eat the same 20 foods each week which is one of the reasons we start to develop food sensitivities. Food sensitivities start undermining your gut health (even if its a "health" food, chicken/broccoli daily= food sensitivities to chicken & broccoli). Daily Harvest has smoothies, bowls, soups, lattes and even healthy cookies around the holidays.

  • Organic Ingredients. In order to reduce our toxic load and potential to develop chronic illness and disease, its important to eat organically when possible. Organic foods can contain some residue of chemicals however; they are not GMO, they are not injected with dangerous poisonous herbicides, pesticides and are the safest choice for you and your family. Daily Harvest works with farmers directly to ensure that their ingredients are the most nutrient dense, freshest and best quality. They then freeze within hours to maintain those nutrients!

  • It's EASY! If I am on the go and need something I don't have to fuss with, I make a smoothie (like in this video) and run out the door. I even have a cooler bag that keeps it cold until I am ready to drink it. That way, there's no reason for me NOT to stay on track.

For the smoothie in the video, I used:

  1. Daily Harvest Banana & Greens Smoothie

  2. 8 oz of Organic Unsweetened Coconut Milk

  3. 1 scoop Vegan Organic Protein Powder, by 1UP Nutrition (they always have coupon codes and I like their Vegan BCAA's too)

  4. 5g L-Glutamine Powder

Total Calories: 269 Protein: 26g Carbs: 30g Fat: 6g *

*Add half a medium avocado if preferred to up your healthy fats, I do this sometimes to meet my macro goals for the day.

That's it, just blend and go! The smoothies, soups, bowls and cookies are SO yummy!
